Pity the poor college professors who must deal with their students' problematic vocabularies.

Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, has decided that enough is enough. The school released its 41st annual list of 13 words to banish in the new year, continuing a tradition started by a former public relations director.

The school receives thousands of submissions every year, but only a few make it to the list. The words are then accumulated into the school's "Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness," which now includes more than 800 definitions.
Read the list below — as well as some of their precious explanations — and weep.
1. So
2. Join the conversation: "Online publications invite us to 'join the conversation,' which is usually more of a scream-fest."
3. Break the Internet: "A phrase that is annoying online word-watchers around the world."
4. Walk it back
5. Presser
6. Manspreading
7. Stakeholder: "A word that has expanded from describing someone who may actually have a stake in a situation or problem, now being over-used in business to describe customers and others."
8. Price point: "Another example of using two words when one will do."
9. Secret sauce
10. Vape
11. Giving me life
12. Physicality
13. Problematic
So go forth and rethink your word choices. Happy 2016.
